Busy Few Weeks in PSHE

19th June 2015

We were all very pleased to see the Exeter Fire Brigade recently who taught us about fire safety and the benefits of a smoke alarm. They are coming to our summer fete so speak to them there or for Free home fire safety advice call them on 08007311822

Year 8 has been learning about animals: domestic, endangered and animals that work for us. Sylvia Waite, a guide dog puppy walker visited to talk to us about the work of the guide dogs and how they are trained. See her and Wilson at the summer fete.

Out trips to the zoo were very successful with everyone having a great time. We were lucky enough to see the new addition to the giraffe house, only 6 days old on our first visit and still very wobbly on her feet! We also saw the tiniest meerkat suckling its mother, quite a few of us were tempted I can tell you!

Junior Life Skills Day was another success. PC Nick Taylor who organises the event surpassed himself with lots of different activities for students to try. It’s a great time to stage the event as it gives a lot of advice to our students on how to stay safe, and just before the summer holidays thats great news!
